Disable or remove permissions for the Introductory Text on People Profile

Will an option be provided to remove permissions or disable/hide the Introductory Text on the People Profile?

I opened a case with SAP support, and they have responded with..."Please be informed that the engineering team has confirmed that they are aware of this issue and planned to enhance in next release that is 2H 2024 but not yet confirmed. Kindly refer the ECT-235689 Please reach out to CSM/CEE to track the progress."

We will be watching this for 2H 2024 as we would like this field disabled/hidden.

Our CSM verified that this ticket ECT-235689 is for the background image functionality, not the introductory text. SAP support researched further and has now stated that As per the further checking with the concern team please be informed you that there is no Pre-requisite mentioned in the documentation :Profile Preview on the Latest People Profile | SAP Help Portal , then this introductory text (self description ) will available by default in Latest People Profile and cannot be disabled. That is with Latest Profile the introductory text is available even if it's not enabled in 'Configure People Profile'. this is working expected. Disappointing and feel configuration needs to be modified.

Hello @AF-TJX ,

Are you talking about the ability for end users to add introductory text into their own employee profile header area? If so, there is an option to disable this option.

Navigate to Admin Center > Configure People Profile.

Click on General Settings on the left side. 

On the right side, you should see a check box you can check/uncheck for: Allow employees to enter introductory text.

Hopefully this helps point you in the right direction.

Hello @Cheryl_D! This setting is unchecked in our test environment, yet associates are still able to edit and add introductory text. It seems there is something besides the checkbox allowing this capability.
