Desktop Assistant On End User Machine - Role Requirement

This issue is in regards to the desktop assistant package when getting deployed to end-user machines. We are noticing one of this issue here.

We recently push the DA package to limited end users for testing purpose and found that they are getting error as below when users are having a "Learner" role.

Error: A network or server issue is temporarily limiting features. Automatically retry in a few second.

But when we upgrade their role in Enable Now to Standard Author Role the error goes off and they are able to view the DA panel and its icons.

Should the end-users have a Learner or Standard Author role?

Is it mandatory to provide Standard Author role to end-users?

Hi Amol, can you please check, if the content is really published for end-users and they have also permission for the work area where the content is hosted? Maybe its in a development work area hosted.

Usually they does not need an author role to consume the DA content.

Maybe one of our other experts has an additional Idea.

Thanks a lot for your response here.

Let me clarify here, we are right now just pushing the DA package to the user's machine and just testing out if the DA panel is coming up for the users or not.

After package installation, if the DA panel does not come up for users, as shown in the attached file in the case. We elevated end-user access to Standard Author from Learners, it works fine.

Content is already published for the users to access

I agree with Michael something is most likley not published correctly or something is in Edit mode causing learners not to be able to get to the content. Using the Published Tag start links will help prevent some of these issues.
