Desktop assistant - error when opening mp4 videos

I have mp4 videos available in desktop assistant. When opening these from desktop assistant, it takes a long time to connect and open up the media player and eventually fails. I noticed it is trying to connect through internet explorer instead of edge. When connecting to the mp4 through a generated library, it connects and plays quick. Any idea on how I can fix the desktop assistant issue?

Thank you.

Steve

Check your Desktop Assistant: Playback Settings > Advanced > Additional Mime Types. Maybe you can put something in there to make it use Edge? How is the .MP4 included in the DA? Just as a Media Object that you have captured the DA context for? Could you include it on a Book Page with the same context and launch it that way?

Thank you. I'm looking where those settings are at now. I included the .MP4 as a media object just as a media object, and captured the screen to link it to, which seems to be working properly. Can you provide more details on finding the playback settings?

Thank you.

Hi Steve,

you can find the playback settings when going to Tools > Settings > Playback Settings. Make sure to start editing the resources first or you will not be able to change the settings. To view the resources, go to View > Workarea Details > Show Resources
