Hi all,
I'm currently creating a new book page template for a cover page.
In this template, I have provided some comments in the description field to remind the authors how to use this template (there are some placeholders to use).
If I use this template as a master copy, its description is inherited in a new created book page. However, I'm not interested in this solution since I will need to add later changes to this template in the future.
Nevertheless, if I use this template as a "real" template (i.e. by setting its subtype to "Book Page Template"), the description field in a newly created book page based on this template seems void.
Is there a way to inherit the description field from this template in a new book page?
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Emmanuel,
If you create a Book template that has Book Pages, each created from Book Page templates, and you add a description to the Book Page in the Book, these comments will be added to the new Book when it is created from the template.
In this case, each of the Book Pages in my Book template are created from Book Page templates. I've added the comment to the Book Page in the Book template, not to the Book Page template and this comment is then added to the corresponding Book Page when a new Book is created using my Book template.
Regards
Shane
