1. Is it possible to default the values of a custom field of a standard object (BenefitEnrollment) upon approval of Hire? 2. And afterwards, any changes to that custom field will trigger a workflow?
I tried to add a rule to Initialize but it only works via UI and not through Hire wizard.
For now, I have a Save Rule that does #1 but any changes to that field, defaults it again because there is a Save Rule that overwrites my manual updates.
I created a yes/no flag to be an additional condition. If it says Yes, it defaults the values but doesn't trigger a workflow on save because if there's a workflow, it can't be defaulted during hire (however it does need a workflow). If it says No, it allow me to change the values and triggers a workflow on save.
TLDR:
During hire: Don't need a workflow but need to default values on custom field.
After hire: Any changes to the custom field needs a workflow.
Request clarification before answering.
