Custom recording dictionary adding extra blank space

This is something I've been experiencing for a while now.

I've created a custom recording dictionary which I use for almost all SEN projects. For whatever reason, I always get an extra blank space after calling the value for the input text. My dictionary entries are all clean and don't have any extra white space anywhere.

Looking at the HTML for this, it seems to add this space on its own right before the closing SPAN tag (<span style="font-weight: bold;"> $#{text_d} </span>.</p>) .

Any suggestions as to how I can fix this?

Did you build your Recording Dictionary from scratch, or did you Duplicate it from a generic SEN Recording Dictionary and then modify it? I have never seen your issue before, and I've been using this tool since 2009, but I always Duplicate a generic dictionary and then modify it. For example, my input_text.prac says "Input a value in the [B_NAME] box.<br/><br/>For this example, type [B_INPUT]." In HTML, that becomes <p>Input a value in the <span style="font-weight: bold;">$#{fieldname}</span> box. <br><br>For this example, type <span style>="font-weight: bold;">$#{text_d}</span>.</p>. There is no space in the $#{text_d}</span>.</p> (a space before the period) and it works fine. We are Cloud SEN. I've never seen this happen in On-Prem either. I'm not an HTML expert but perhaps it's something in how your browser is interpreting the HTML, because I don't think it's being caused by SEN. We use the latest versions of Edge and Chrome. I have seen some authors be annoyed by the $I{fieldicon} placeholder when they turn off the Object Image property, because the placeholder remains in the HTML and occupies one space, meaning you will have a space where you don't necessarily want one. To those authors, I always say "Let the tool do what it does. Most end users will not notice the extra space, and it's not worth your author time to delete the placeholder HTML just to get rid of a space."
