Custom Portlet assigned with parent/child picklist but it is not working as in people profile

Dear Team,

I have created a new portlet and picklist, then Custom Portlet assigned with parent/child picklist but it is not working as in the people profile.

Steps I have taken for cust portlet

1) Created Object Definition

2) given RPB

3) Created UI

4) People Profile Configuration

5) RBP
