Custom Objective Field for Variable Pay Calculation

Hello,

I am implementing Compensation and Variable Pay and customer wants to use a custom field on the objective form for Variable Pay Calculation.

There is a custom field on the Objective/Goal Template called the Percentage achievement. This is used to capture the percent of the objective that has been achieved.
In designing the variable pay calculation, customer wants to be able to include that custom field in the calculation.

I would like to find out if this is possible. If yes, how can this be achieved?

Why are they using a custom field for this? There is a standard field called "Percent Done" that does the same thing. We can use that as a direct driver for guidelines
