Can the Hands On documentation template be customized? I read Dirk's book and didn't see how to customize the look of a documentation template. For example, we want to have each step in the Hands On template numbered in sequence based on the previous step (1. 2. 3. etc.). Currently, every step is (1).
Also, is there a way to see our work in the Hands On documentation template when editing in Documentation View?

Yes, depending on what you want to do. There's the usual Documentation Settings that control the information that's in it (including the numbering - I just did a video on this that might help you), and then you can also change the actual Word template (.dot file) that it uses (be aware that if you change the standard template that will affect all documents that use it, so consider creating a new .dot if you only want it to apply to this specific document type).
