First of all the cross tab and non-aggregated tabs in story report table widgets are the ways through which we can arrange the columns in a specific format.
Then the implementation of the table widget depends upon the measures and dimensions we are trying to add in the implementation of the story report.

The Cross Tab functionality enables one to obtain a cross tabular representation of the data from a query used in the table report.
It specifically places columns in a two-dimensional row-column format. In this format we can align the columns such that the data related to the row and column can be represented as a single unit value of both the entities.

In contrast to this the non-aggregated column representation is the one which is helpful in performing a list-view of the table data. Meaning it will only help the person to view the data in simple table format with the columns as labels and the data in the form of rows.



Complex calculated measures that involve statistical calculations like aggregation, sum, minimum, maximum as well as quartile operations, all these can be created and represented in a structural format in Cross Tab. Whereas the non-aggregated format helps to place measures and dimensions in a single line of columns that can be rearranged from the table designer pane.
