Creating copy of the existing LMS entities

Hello LMS experts,

I have a requirement as part of the Business unit separation activity in SF LMS - to copy all the existing learning contents(like item, curricula, catalogues, Sch.Offerings, programs,AP etc) present in the SF LMS instance.

Request you to kindly provide suggestions on how to create bulk copy.

Thanks in advance.

Warm regards,

Mitali

If you are copying data out of the system then review the delivered reports for entites. The output of these reports may suffice. Check out the Learning Custom Report Exchange Forum. Fellow customers may have shared reports that meet your needs.

If you what you need is to use existing entities to create new entities in bulk then getting data is just part one. You'll need to set up a process to transform told value to new values. Hopefully this is just IDs. If you need to change more then your are looking at more effort / time. You also need to set up the connectors. You are looking at more effort / time for any connectors you have not used.

If you are dealing with programs then you need to go manual. As far as I know there is not a connector for program and there is not a delivered report for programs.

Thanks Jorge.

Need to check on how can I export the existing data from LMS instance to be modified .

And then can use the connectors (Item, Curricula and Sch.Offering connector).

You can

  1. Work with Professional Service or a partner to export data from the database tables.
  2. Create custom reports to get the data you need

#1 will likely be quickest but will have a cost. #2 will have no cost if custom reports are created internally, but will take more time.

Delivered entity reports do not have all fields / columns.

Thanks Jorge.

Cannot go with the #1 option for the said reason.

#2 Can build custom reports but have very limited time which is not feasible.

Would really appreciate if there is any other possible quick workaround.

Thanks and regards,
