Hello community

we are using SFEC and we are facing an issue in our process when employees change from one legal entity into another. According to our best knowledge this needs to be done by terminating + rehire with new employment in order to allow this.

Usually such procedures would be maintained not only on the date when it happens, but once it's known to the HR clerc.

Example

If on 17.03.2021 a company change should be entered in SFEC for 01.04.2021 A termination for 01.04.2021 is entered In the process "Rehire employee" the employee can only be selected once the record actually turned "inactive". (only after 01.04.2021)

I am aware there is a possiblity to use "Add New Employee" and use the matching functionality. Do you know any alternatives to this?

Thank you for your help!

Best Regards

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

For what reason(s) do you need to process these as a termination then rehire in EC?

We do not have EC payroll. In our environment, transfers to a new Legal Entity are processed the same as positions within the same Legal Entity (just with a different reason code). This event code triggers special email notifications to our payroll team and results in additional actions being taken for these employees on our integration to the payroll system. I will call out that these are all usually Legal Entities in the USA so this works for us.

Hi Angie,

we have been told by our partner that this is the way we do legal entity changes once we have an SAP OnPremise Payroll integrated.

Hi Sebastian,

Are you aware of the "Rehire inactive employee" tool?

Hi Sem

yes, the "Rehire inactive employee" is in use already. However the problem is that only inactive people as of "today" are offered in there for rehire. We are looing for a possibility to use this tool but select people who will be inactive in near future.
