Copying from Excel

When generating a Purchase Order I copy and paste data from Excel spreadsheet into text tab on( Create Purchase Order page) previously with no issues. Now some days I open the system and it will not allow me to paste into the text box The "insert" option stays shaded. I can copy and paste within SAP but cannot copy and paste from outside. Other days I open the system and it allows me to copy and paste Any ideas as it gets quite frustrating and time consuming having to type in the data
