Long story. I'm told our point of contact is Jesse Bernal Jr
We discussed this with Tonya Barnett and her suggestions are at the bottom (copy of text from email to Andres Suarez) but she is rolling off and Jesse is taking over the account for Shutterfly.
We are working in Enable Now and are having difficulty with Text coming through as gibberish (or something other than what we typed). We are recording in S/4 Hana Fiori using Producer Version 10.4.11 (build 5060) Cloud Edition. There are additional issues involving picking hot spots and consistency of recording actions that I believe may be related to the number of open running applications. It seems to work better (not perfect, but better) with fewer applications running.
Please review the attached files and review the differences between them. There is also an mp4 Teams recording showing myself re-creating the issue along with the following dkp files:
Display Condition Record (Nilesh) - Created by a different user
Display Condition Record Keypad - Created first when Nilesh asked if I would do so and compare with his
Display Condition Record Numbers - Created second thinking the numbers vs the number pad may make a difference
Display Condition Record Only Producer and Chrome - Created after shutting down everything except
Test for Enable Now Ask a Question - Created during the Teams recording
Teams Recording of Producer.mp4 - Recording from Teams showing my actions in Producer
Here is the info we received from Tonya:
So it would appear that the primary issue has to do with the “profile” that is being used when recording a simulation. The profile used *should* be UI5 as opposed to “standard” (what was demo’d when George was showing me the issue). And, in order to have Enable Now automatically choose the right profilw (which we want), the browser must recognize the SAP Fiori application.
So, we will start with getting the browsers properly configured:
CHROME: (All authors)
EDGE: (All Authors)
In ENABLE NOW Manager – (an Administrator needs to do the following)
PRIOR TO RECORDING:
All users need to record with a screen resolution of 100%.
WHEN RECORDING:
After an author clicks the “record” button in Producer, the pop up below appears where they then select the application they want to record. When recording Fiori, the box should auto-populate with UI5 as shown below. (Manually selecting it does not mean the browser is recognizing the application, which is why configuring the browser needs to happen).
Often when a screen changes for a user (in an SAP application), the system will automatically place the cursor where it needs to go next and waits for the user to type in an entry. HOWEVER, Enable Now does not recognize this cursor action as a “action” like a mouse click, so it is not recording that cursor movement, so an author as to do it manually. So when recording with Enable Now, if a cursor automatically moves to a free field, the author needs to click with the mouse in that field (yes it’s redundant), let Enable Now record that “click” and *then* the author can type in that field. You can then clean up the recording in the edit later.

Great documentation. So what is the issue now? Not sure what is or is not working at this point after trying all the above items.
Normally if you are having issues like this it is the profile or the Scripting for SAP is not set up correctly.
Have you had someone with SAP ALL try to record to see if the issue still exists?
Or try a Firefighter role that would have access to SAP scripting to capture the screens correctly?
Hope this helps
Jesse

Did you resolve this, and if so, what was the solution?
In my experience, text fields being recorded as gibberish is almost always down to the profile used. As Tonya noted, check that UI5 is being used for Fiori. If you select that to start recording and then find it is changing to something else during recording (it shouldn't but...), then set Authoring Settings > Recording - General > Profile Change to never change.
The other thing it sometimes can be is if scripting is not enabled, and/or you don't have a role that allows you to run scripting. Check as per Jesse's reply.
