Context recognition for different URL sites in Desktop Assistant

Hello SAP Community

I'm working on DA project for our users. I've recorded a simulation in EDGE browser for GRC app and added it to DA project.

When I'm starting a DA, I can see this simulation on every Fiory style app in EDGE browser

For example, I can see this project in GRC portal and MDM portal

Is it possible to add a context for a URL? Or maybe there is another solution

I need to see this simulation only in GRC portal

Hi Sergey,

It sounds to me like the context has not been recorded correctly or perhaps needs to be neutralised. The first thing to determine is if the context has even been recorded correctly - Producer should automatically capture the context when you record the content. To check that the context is being captured correctly:

1. Open the Simulation in Producer
2. Click on the icon of a screen image on the left side, in the hierarchy of actions. You must click on a screen image though, not an action macro
3. Scroll down and open the Rerecord section of properties
4. Check the entry in the Page Key field. If it is showing errors, it's likely that the context is not being recorded correctly

If the context is not being recorded correctly, the most likely cause is that whoever recorded the Simulation did not have the Enablement Assistant Edge browser extension installed and turned on. To use SAP Companion for Desktop (formally Desktop Assistant) the authors and users must have the Enablement Assistant browser extension installed in Edge and Chrome and they must be turned on. If they are not, Producer cannot capture the context of browser applications so publishing through SAP Companion for Desktop is not possible.

Please copy the content of the Page Key field for one of the screens and paste it into this message if it looks like the context is correct.

Thank you Shane for your answer. I've looked through the context of simulation project and it was like I converted too much attributes. I've restored much of them and now project appears in DA correctly - only when I'm in GRC portal.

But what should I do when I have simulations that were recorded in browser without Enablement Asisstant? Is it possible to add some attributes manualy?

Or maybe I can create a DA group, add those simultions to this group, record a context for this DA group?

Hi Sergey,

Yes it is possible to add the context detail manually, after the Simulation has been recorded, but it is tricky. To do this I would:

1. Open Producer
2. Create a new Simulation and record at least one action on every screen that is relevant to the original transaction
3. Copy the contextual information from the Page Key field on the screen that has the context correct and paste it into the Page Key field of at least one screen icon in the original Simulation. As long as one screen image has the contextual information, the content should appear in SAP Companion for Desktop for that screen.

I would not try to manually type the contextual information, copy and paste is the only option.
