Compensation Performance Monitoring Tools

Hello everyone,

I recently received a question from a customer who is experiencing performance issues with their SFSF Compensation module. These performance drops have been inconsistent so they can be quite unpredictable. Upon these issues, They have asked me about performance monitoring tools that SAP has available. Sometimes, customers can build their own tool to track their system performance.

With this in mind, If anyone has any tools that we can provide for them to help them in finding/developing their own tools. Please let me know so we can organize a meeting/ demonstration.

Hi @niallwalker98

I am not aware of a Performance monitoring tool however I made this blog a few years ago about configurations that lead to latency:

https://community.sap.com/t5/human-capital-management-blogs-by-sap/how-to-avoid-latency-in-the-compe...

If you create a ticket to support our engineers can use Splunk to determine exactly what is causing the latency (they will see pages and pages of code when the latency is happening and will be able to say what the issue is pretty quickly), I've inserted instructions at the bottom of the blogs on getting the x unique id for faster splunk processing.

All the best

Xavier

Hi Xavier, We are looking for examples of custom tools. if you are aware of customers creating their own, but I have forwarded the blog post and your comments to colleagues. I will let you know if I hear anything back.

I've never heard of custom tools. There is a Chrome extension called Page Load time that is useful to try to get a sense of how long a page takes to open and which I always use when asked to troubleshoot latency issues. Number 1 reason however when looking for the reason is a configuration decision that was deviating from standard, especially a decision to have all employees into one worksheet instead of creating a worksheet for each manager and using executive review to give extended access to specific people.

The customer should discuss this with the Customer success manager from the cloud success services. MCC can conduct some investigations to understand/replicate the behavior.

Continuous Quality Check Interface Management (CQC IFM) could help understand better the sitaution.

The CQC Interface Management service is available for solutions that are either in production or close to
production start up. It focuses on hybrid scenarios connecting cloud applications with on-premise systems. Worth to mention is that the CQC Interface Management service focuses on the analysis of SAP components.
Processing steps that may be conducted on third-party sender/receiver systems or third-party middleware hubs cannot be analyzed.

But as Xavier mentions most of the time it's caused by configuration and there are some improvements they can make.
