Dears SAP Experts is it possible to make the final basic salary equal to Max pay range in case the merit increase amount will made the final salary over the max range. as example
Employee current salary is 5900 SAR and his max pay range is 6000 SARAccording to the merit guidelines the employee is entitled to 3% which is equal to 171 SAR, this will made the final Basic salary= 6071 SAR which it is over the max pay limit
This is what our business require that in such a scenario we need to made the final basic = current max pay range

If you don't want to use the Lumpsum column then as per Phil's comment the only option is to use custom validation.
In terms of configuration it would look like this : leave the Merit column visible but call it "Proposed Merit", then next to it add a custom column of type money called "Final Salary" that has a formula like this:
if(curSalary+merit > payRangeMax, payRangeMax, curSalary+merit)I would suggest using help text feature to explain on mouse-over the formula used behind the scene. Or call the new column "Final Salary (Capped)".
As a consequence of the above change you will also have to recalculate the new compa ratio and/or range penetration with a rule of three (it could be a bit of an issue if you allow planners to enter promotions actually as it would not take into account the new pay grade change - please ignore if you don't do Promotions as part of the Salary cycle).
All the best

Standard functionality allows to split excess above range between merit and lumpSum. If this isn't desired, then use custom columns.
