Compensation Eligibility rules dynamically incrementing the Date(Year value).

Hi

Looking to understand if we can dynamically populate the year value in the dates for EC eligibility business rule we use in Salary Review /Variable pay SF Compensation.

This is to avoid hardcoding the date with year in the eligibility rules for Annual compensation review and fine-tuning the year value(s) every year in the business rule before the Annual Salary/Variable pay review.

Essentially the EC Compensation Eligibility Business rule may have some date for example 31st December 2022 as the cut off date for eligibility for Salary Review that happened in early 2023.

Now for the Salary Review that happens in 2024 we would like this 31st December 2022 date in the business rule to dynamically move to 31st December 2023.

Any help/suggestions/guidance will be greatly appreciated.

No it isn't possible unfortunately. In this type of situations we need to document to the customer that they will have to create a new eligibility rule every year and update any date in them right after they duplicate the template for a new cycle.

May you try to create a date variable in the business rule which derive the date by function CreateDate() with parameter:

1. Year: calling Year of Date() with parameter Date = Today()

2. Month: 12

3. Day: 31

You should aware the value of year will vary based on when the business rule is run, so fine-tune it based on your process timeline. (Somehow it will be an issue if your salary review process starts in Dec/Jan)
