That's an odd question. SAP Enable Now was Workforce Performance Builder (WPB) until it was re-branded 4 or 5 years ago. That's like asking what's the difference between a Datsun Cherry and a Nissan Altima 🙂 The basic functionality (simulations, courseware, in-app help) is all the same, but there have been multiple incremental updates since then. Everything you could do in WPB you can do in SEN - just better.

WPB was renamed to Enable Now in 2017. WPB was supported on MSSQL and Oracle back end databases. It required the use of Internet Exporer as a browser for development of content with Producer. Like IE, most of the environment needed to support WPB is either no longer supported by 3rd party vendors, or is known to have security issues (older versions of Apache)

SAP Enable Now uses HANA and MSSQL back end databases. There is a lot of modern functionality that is only supported on the HANA Manager edition. In addition to On-Premise, SAP Enable Now is available on Cloud as a service.

Some of the added functionality for SAP Enable Now:

- SAP Companion (formerly known as Web Assistant) including the ability to customize the Learning content from SAP

- SAML 2.0 SSO authentication

- More extensive reporting of content usage

- The ability to edit and make content from the browser

- Support for Edge and Chrome in editing content (using extensions)

- Application Profiles supporting up-to-date software
