Companion-Context

Hi there

We have several S4/HANA_ON-PREMISE System in our organisation. But all connected to the same Workarea for SAP Companion.

That would mean there will be for example a bunch of Shell-home Help Context Objects. I really need to specify my Content according to the System it is used for.

But what is a correct Identifier for the parameter System in the SAP Companion-Context in Manager. Where do I find this?

Thank you Dirk, for your answer and help. Indeed with Conditions I can do it via an URL pattern. But then it has to be considered by each author, what is much bigger effort and risk of unwanted content.

kristina.tanz can you provide more information about this Properties "System"?

Hi Thomas,

the System field still works, although we don't use it anymore in our standard product. You can still use it by add the system parameter into the configuration and then also into the content. If it matches, the content is displayed.

Take care,

Kristina

You can't. Properties considered for context sensitivity are: appName (Context property), Product, Version, Language. If you have multiple systems where these 4 things are exactly the same then you will see exactly the same object (this is by design - often customers have [at least] Dev, Acc, and Prod systems all pointing to the same SEN system). If you want to have different content you will need to use different Workareas for each of them.

The SAP Companion Properties for an object do indeed include a System property, but I don't believe this is used any more (and it is not in the Context Information matched for help), if you display that in the Editor).

You could maybe use the new Condition functionality and set your own Help4 API variable for each system and make the duplicated help projects conditional on that variable, but you would still have (e.g.) multiple projects matching the initial 4 context properties, and I don't know how SAP Companion would handle that - without conditions it would seemingly pick one at random to display, but I don't know if in a Conditional world it retrieves all of them and then if only one matches the Conditions, display that one. kristina.tanz may know.
