Companion content not visible in SuccessFactors

Hello everybody,

We've encountered an issue with our SAP Companion content on SuccessFactors.

Our existing content (guided tours, context help) has disappeard from both the SF Homepage and Employee Central (performancemanager-URL's).

When clicking on the question mark icon, an empty carousel appears. Additionally, if I attempt to create new content in edit mode, I receive an error message indicating that the creation has failed.

Here’s what we’ve tried so far:

  • Verified the context of the content in the Producer, which seems to match (see attachments).
  • Republished the content, but this did not resolve the issue.
  • Republished the resources

Interestingly, the Companion content on SF Learning is working fine (plateau-URL's). However, the UI for Learning was recently upgraded, so the content there is newer. Could this UI upgrade have caused issues with our older content?

If not, are there any other areas we should investigate?

Update; I checked the console for errors, and found a few enable now related ones that refer to security and the CORS (see attachment).

Thank you in advance for your support!

Joke

Check what's going on in the web browser's developer console. At first glance, it seems like the authentication issue (with SAP Enable Now) or the SAP Companion configuration was changed.

Anyway, errors in the developer console will 100% tell you what's going wrong.

Hello Anton, thank you for your reply! I checked the console and indeed found some error messages about Enable Now (see attachment). I think it has something to do with the config on SF? Or is this something we can fix on the side of Enable Now? Thank you!

According to the console, SAP Enable Now is blocking CORS request from your SF system. In SAP Enable Now Manager got to Administration - Server Settings, Security and Passwords. Find the "Enable CORS" setting and switch it ON. In the CORS-allowed sites field put *

Hi Joke,

It's possible that an upgrade to the UI of SF has resulted in the issue.  For example, about two years ago the SF Home screen was updated and at that time they added a different context value to the screen so that some customers could continue to run the old screen and some switch to the new screen.  Try this:

1. Open SF
2. Click the SAP Companion editing pencil to go into edit mode
3. Click the gear icon and choose Show Context Information
4. Check the Screen ID value, Product Name, and Version value listed on the dialog box that appears.  Compare the values in the Requested column with your content, do they align?
