Charts in Report stories are not getting refreshed with the latest data when executed

Hi,

In report stories, we have few charts created which are not getting refreshed upon each run. The user runs the report atleast 3-4 times in a day and compares the same with the active employee list which is also run simultaneously. However, the data is not getting updated real time even though the Data base is SF only and reports are created within SF. Can anyone tell if you have faced such a problem and is there any workaround? Secondly, how do we overcome such a problem. This dashboard kind of report is created for the CXO level and we cannot provide them to choose the date every time they run teh report. Its expected to show the latest data as we are fetching the data directly from SF.

Hi Nagavalli,

I would say that if report was built correctly, then it's not possible. It's always live data. Could it be connected to some filters applied to your charts or effective date of the data or maybe immaturity of the end user (maybe they do something wrong and compare something incorrectly). I've never seen the data got stuck and stay not updated for a while. I would definitely review the set-up of the report and challenge the end users.

Hi Olga, The report is built correctly as it provides the right data, only if we give in some sort of date filter in the front end. Else the report even after subsequent refresh does not show the live data. We have 3 reports which are executed to compare teh data, active list, separation and dashboard. When user executes them, the data at the first run will match. Subsequent runs, say mid of the day, we will have more hires and some separations. The active list and separation reports show correct data, while teh dashboard shows the first run data only. It does not get updated or refreshed even when done manually. Hence facing the issue. Should any other setting is required? For time being, i have enabled the setting as per the given KBA https://userapps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/en/3503253. However, as per the CXO team, they want the chart to display directly upon single click and data should show live data. Kindly help

Could it be that some processes are not momentarily reflect in SF too due to approvals or the complex workflow? It could be that the Termination was triggered, but it takes time for it to be processed in SF and the report gets it only when it's done

Hi Olga. If not the terminated employees, atleast the hire action gets completed in the morning between 9am to 1 pm. When the report is executed at 3 pm, it should show me the latest hired cases. Those also are not reflecting. Numbers neither increase nor decrease. It remains constant with the number as it was shown during the first run of the report. Sometimes, it shows the previous day's count which give a huge mismatch of close to 1000, 2000 cases. This report is the optimized report which we have created.

If everything is configured correctly, that's most likely a bug. What SAP says about it? I've noticed that the Optimized mode gives more bags comparing to Classic one.
