Career Development planning implementation

HI , My client is using SAP HCM for masterdata. And they want to implement SuccessFactors Career development planning for career pathing by integrating with SAP HCM. But they have a plan to migrate from HCM to SuccessFactors in next 1 or 2 years. But they have thought to implement CDP meanwhile in this short term 

Please suggest if that is a best way to implement CDP with SAP HCM and then integrate it with implement employee central in future. Will that effect CDP in anyway technically ?
