Candidate does not start - process question

Hi -

We recently implemented Pre-Day1 Access and have run into an issue of what to do when a new hire does not start after Onboardin is initiated - but, before the 'Manage Pending Hires' process is completed.

Scenario: Candidate is moved into the Onboarding status. Candidate does not start for whatever reason. EC profile for pre-day1 access remains active.

What is the suggested business process to follow when a new hire does not start but is already in the Onboarding status? We cannot continue to hire them and then terminate them because, in most cases, their Onboarding documents are incomplete. We currently have to submit a Purge Inactive User request using the Data Retention Management utility - this process is cumbersome and, given the frequency of new hires not starting, is inefficient. Is there a 'better' process we should be following for the above scenario to ensure the EC profile is deactivated and/or purged?
