Can we use Succession Fields as criteria for Eligibility Rules?

Hi, 

I have an unusual question. My client has repurposed the Succession field reasonForLeaving, and would want it to be a criteria for a Compensation Eligibility rule. However, I cannot find reasonForLeaving (or its new label) under the available base objects for Comp eligibility rules. Is this expected behavior? Any possible workarounds if that is the case?
