can we count direct reports by business rules ?

we are trying to identify manager of 

direct reports working in Company A.

those managers can be in company A or different companies within the group.

Unfortunately, the standard filter by company and User with team member size > 0 only works for a subset of the expected scope.

we are missing the managers belonging to a different company than A.

i was wondering if it would be possible to count direct reports from Company A within Business rule.

the idea is to build a custom MDF cust_Manager_A where the count of reports from company A would be a property and the main external code would be the Manager PersonIdExternal code.

if the count reaches zero, it will indicate these manager is no longer managing reports in Company A.

unfortunatly, the function cardinality is unable to count reports with specific criteria on jobinfo.

You can try to implement this in integration center providing the number into the MDF portlet and an onsave rule checking if one of the directs has a different company. I am a bit unsure if the business rule can check the "array" of directs. Because according to your description as long as one user has a different company you can set one field to true instead of adding the number of directs
