Can time pairs be split across midnight in SuccessFactors Time?

We have employees that start a shift on one day and work through to the next day. Our current time system allows us to split the time pairs so that employees are credited for the hours worked on the actual calendar day. This is mainly important for the end of the pay week and for calculating hours worked on holidays for holiday premium pay.

Scenario: Punch In - 12/9/2024 10:00PM  Punch Out 12/10/2024 6:00AM

Our current system will credit the employee for two hours on 12/9/2024 and 6 hours on 12/10/2024.

Is this possible using SuccessFactors Time?

Hello MMILLER1112,

yes this is possibly. You can use time record filters to generate a public holiday premium for example only for the time slot 00:00 - 12:00pm. Or you can even generate a Sunday premium in a time period from Sunday 00:00 till Monday 06:00am for example. And even if the employee records on Monday from 05.00 am till 1:00pm working time you nevertheless can generate a 1 hour Sunday premium, although it is Calendar day monday. So, take a look on the time records filters and how they work, they are pretty flexible.

However, what you cannot do is split the record for a "complete" valuation on different days. But I guess this is anyway not what you want. So, example would be: the 2 hours 12/9/ count for an overtime calculation on 12/9 including all hours recorded on that day, and the hours on 12/10 are assigned to the next "logical" day and count for overtime calculation on 12/10. But as mentioned, I guess you just want a split for premium pay / wage type generation and this is possible.

Best regards

Volker
