I want to change the style of the book pages in courses but I only know how to do it page by page. Is there a way I can do it in bulk to change them?

Hi Lauren,

If you have created your book pages with reference to book page templates, and the object that you want to change the style of are coming from those templates, update the style on the book page templates and it should flow through to your content. So, you may only have to update 20-30 book pages templates and all the content created with those templates will be updated. This assumes that the objects that you want to change the style of are coming from the templates.

To know if you have created a book page with reference to a template, open the book page in Producer. Take a look at the Template field in the properties of the page, if it references a template, modify that template.

Download the Book/structure, change the Template/Style in Excel and upload again.

(Sorry, that was a bit brief. I was AFK, on my phone. Longer answer is:)

I'm assuming you want to change the Template? (If you want to change the actual Style property, that should be specified in the Template.) In which case:

  1. Select the Book (or Group containing the Books/Pages) in the Workarea, and select menu option Tools > Workarea Structure > Export Structure. You'll get a spreadsheet that looks like this:
  1. Filter on a Class (Column C) on "slide".
  2. Change the Template (Column G) to specify the new Template.
  3. Save.
  4. Back in Producer, use menu option Tools > Workarea Structure > Import Structure to upload the changes.

Be VERY careful when using this feature (Export/Import) as it is very easy to really mess things up.

As always, if that helps, please mark as answered to close out the question and help other community members know what worked.
