Can a manager be able to edit a performance form even if it is not in his/her performance inbox

There is a requirement from client - when the performance form is not in the manager inbox, still the manager should be able to edit the form in parallel from team overview tab. 

One of the workarounds being introspected is to have a step as collaborative step where in the form is with employee and manager both. At the time the employee is doing self assessment, manager can make changes to the form at the same time by clicking on 'Review<employee name>' from team overview tab. 

We would want to understand any negative implications of keeping this step as a collaborative type.

Really appreciate your responses as we are looking for one as soon as possible.

We use a collaborative step for one of our performance reviews in this same way. It works out fine for us for the most part. Managers are also then able to route the form forward in the route map to the next step if needed, which is the Manager Assessment step, where the other manager features can be utilized. The other way to work this is to use the 'out of turn access' feature for managers, which we also use on another performance form (we have several).

Some other manager features will only work at the Manager Assessment step, such as Get Feedback. However, managers can add their ratings and comments while the form is still at the Employee Assessment step.

The only other issue that can happen in either of the above, is that only one person can be in the form at a time. Both the employee and the manager cannot both be in the form at the exact same time. This is something to be aware of.

Hi @mitalaru,

We have been using OOTA for several years now. The only things to note are the items I already mentioned, such as some manager features not accessible and only one person can be in the form at a time. And to really test permissions thoroughly, but that is always the case with performance management.
