Business rule to trigger a custom email template based on Job info attributes

Hi experts!

I am trying to configure a rule which triggers a workflow that is designed to send the manager of an individual a custom email template.

The rule looks at the probationary end date and if today is -28 days from it, it triggers the workflow.

Since the removal of the basic rule type, i cant seem to find the right scenario to base the rule on.

I have tried the generate alerts rule type, and whilst that does trigger the workflow and trigger an alert, it does not send the custom email template assigned to the workflow at all.
