Bonus Assignment Statement-Adding Person ID and Preferred Name field

Hi 

We are developing a custom Bonus assignment statement and are able to pull the FIRST NAME and LAST NAME into the statement.  Instead we want to pull the Preferred Name(preferred-name) instead of FIRST NAME and also pull the Person ID field (person-id-external) instead of EMPID field. Unfortunately with no success so far.

Is it possible get these fields into the Bonus Assignment statement?

Should we get these fields into VP History file background element as custom fields and hide these there and try to pull them into Bonus Assignment statement?

@xavierlegarrec-Thanks for the clarification. Tried to get the following field in the History file...personId using the following mapping but it does not show/output any value...personInfo.person-id-external.Value. Also tried with personInfo.person-id-external.  The type of field is VFLD11. Is there a protocol or trick that is being missed here?

@rkumar1947  Here is what I do when I have issues like you are having: first check Manage Business Configuration correct section to see the exact field ID, then add a bunch custom column at the entry level of a varpay or compensation and map them to different extensions of the field you are interested in and see which one returns a value. then map it to your vp background element

Thanks @xavierlegarrec. We have already have a custom column for Person ID on the Entry level with the field (person-id-external) mapped to Person Information via Biographical Information. It shows output on the Entry level but no output on the History file when the same mapping is done on the VP Background element. Seems intriguing. Not sure why?

@rkumar1947 maybe check that the code used in the xml is the same for the entry level field vs the background element. Also try another type of background element column such as ffld instead of vfld, while making sure you are not using one of the reserved fields (listed in workbook or in this blog: https://community.sap.com/t5/human-capital-management-blogs-by-members/create-or-modify-the-backgrou...)

@xavierlegarrec-VFLD indeed works. I matched the mapping to the custom field in XML for Person ID and deleted the History file and recreated it from scratch and it works now, the field is visible on the history file. Thanks for your suggestions.

I had a custom statements/reporting expert look at your question and he confirms that your suggestion is the only way to pull up this information into Bonus Assignment Statement.

Hi Xavier and all, therefore there is no way to retrieve data from the custom columns in the worksheet?

Not sure I understand your comment @NicolòC We're talking about standard tags in Bonus Assignment Statements here (similar to the ones that can be used on standard comp statements). Yes there is a way to retrieve any custom data from EC into Comp or Variable Pay and then on to the statements.
