Base Workarea

Hi,

I have created a standard workarea and I am trying to extend it to another one.
However, when I open the drop down bar in "base workareas" I am only allowed to set the connected workarea as base... Is this normal ? Should I refer to support instead ? Thanks!

Hi Lynn,

The Base Workarea value is typically set to a Connected Workarea to make the content from the Connected Workarea available for editing in another Workarea. The Base Workarea list should contain all the Connected Workareas in your Enable Now tenant, along with any normal Workareas. The only Workareas that will not appear in the Base Workarea list is Extended Workareas, that is, Workareas that have their own Base Workarea. Extended Workareas cannot be used as a Base Workarea.

Regards
Shane

You can base (A) off (B). Typically (B) would be a 'standard Workarea' from SAP, and (A) would be your own Workarea. You can only base one Workarea off one other Workarea. You can't 'daisychain' them (as Shane notes). Make sure in Server Settings you have both Enable Workarea Extensibility Feature and Enable Connected Workarea Feature selected.
