backdating of items?

Is there a way to setup the assignment of Item B to reflect the backdating/original date of item A, without having to go in manually and update records for all of those users?

@Learning_Discovery, as I understood the situation, I don't think that's possible. It'd be necessary to use the "Edit Required Dates" feature to adjust the assignment date.

Yes, this is what we have figured out. For any matching required dates, we can use the "bulk" update feature.
But for everyone else where the dates are spread out - it's just a matter of manually adjusting the required dates for each user.

We were hoping there would be a setup instruction/logic we could apply as there are about 40 users across 19 items.
But it it's only 1 time - I guess we'll just have to get through it.

Thanks for the reply!

This may not be exactly what you want but we include both Item A and Item B in the curriculum assigning per the AP.  Item A is the initial course.  Item B is the retraining or requal of the item.  We setup Item B to have a pre-requisite of Item A.  We also setup that once Item A has a completion date, the same completion date is applied to Item B which kicks off the retraining of Item B.

Ex: Item A (Initial course) is a one-time training.  Item A is completed on 1/1/2025 and credit is also populated for Item B.  Item B has a 1 year re-training so on 12/31/2026, Item B is scheduled with an expiration date of 12/31/2026.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate you!

Yes, this works as a setup from now and moving into the future. We've tried this and it works fine.

But the issue arises as in my post: we were trying to figure out a way to automate the back dating process for Item A and have that cascade forward for Item B as well. Which unfortunately just isn't possible. So we've manipulated each user and their completions manually. Was a bit of a pain - but ultimately got us to the place we need to be.
