Authoring SAP Companion Content - About Author Permissions

For a client, we have created Workarea in SAP Enable Now to store SAP Companion content. We have successfully linked this Workarea to the SAP S4 application. Additionally, I have added my team members in the Workarea as users with client’s email ID and granted Author roles. As a result, they can successfully author SAP Companion content (Guided Tours) in the target SAP S4 application.

Additionally, we have some generic system Test IDs created by the Testing Team for the SAP S4 application. These Test IDs have not been added in SEN Workarea as Users. However, I noticed that when my team log into the target application with these Test IDs, they can still author/edit the SAP Companion content.

Any reason, why generic Test IDs (not configured in SEN Workarea as users) can still allow to create and edit the SAP companion content using the Pencil icon?

Hi Angad,

I guess the parameter "help-editor=true" is enabled in your S/4 Hana by Basis. And that's why all users are seeing pencil icon.

Thank you Mani for the quick response. One follow-up question - So, even if the "help-editor=true" is enabled in S/4 Hana, I believe that only those users, who have got author access in SEN Manager, will be able to edit. In this situation, other users (NOT configured in SEN with Author roles), too will see the Edit icon, but will be able to edit, is that right?,

@AngadJadhav Yes. The one who are not having authoring roles will not be able to edit the SAP Companion contents. They will just see the pencil icon.
