What are the potential benefits of having users access content from SAP Enable Now Manager instead of logging into a LMS?
Request clarification before answering.
Shane,
Thank you for your quick and detailed response to my question. Using Enable Now Manager in place of an LMS seems to have many advantages. But some of our business processes are regulated and must meet FDA 21 CFR Part 11 requirements for maintaining electronic training records. We use a complaint LMS (Saba) today to meet this requirement for these processes. Is Enable Now FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliant?

Bob

Hi Robert,
The biggest advantage is simplicity and speed. When you create content in Enable Now, that content can be instantly published for end user consumption, without the need to export it in SCORM format and load and test it in an LMS. So, if the content is changing regularly, it will certainly reduce the effort and allow for content to be accessed faster, if it is accessed directly from Manager.
Other advantages could include:
1. If you are using the Cloud version of Enable Now and have an on premise LMS, it will be easier to make the content available to a mobile/external workforce. With more and more work occurring from home, cloud solutions offer a big advantage over on premise solutions
2. If you can do everything you want from Enable Now, you could eliminate the licensing cost of the LMS
3. If you can eliminate the LMS, it's one less system that IT needs to manage
4. Enable Now Manager supports the distribution of information in different ways, e.g. formal structured eLearning and also real-time in application. LMSs only support the formal structured learning requirement, they are really not good at support ad hoc information requests.
Regards
Shane
