I've never managed to get it to generate quotes, even using " I ended up just coloring the text so it stands out.

Hi Shonlene,

You will need to create a new Recording Dictionary to be able to modify the standard text strings used when recording Simulations. Once you have the new Recording Dictionary, you will need to modify the standard Practice mode strings that related to input text entry to include the quotes. To do this:

1. Open Producer and click on the Resources > Recording Dictionaries object

2. On the upper middle part of the screen click the yellow + to create a new Recording Dictionary

3. Double click the new dictionary to open it

4. Change the language to the language of your content, e.g. UK English or Spanish or whatever language you record Simulations in

5. Click the filter icon and filter for ID values of input. This will display all the standard strings used to create input text

6. Double click an entry to open it for modifications. You will need to modify the entries that end in .prac if you want to update the Practice mode text strings

7. Add the “ string in front of the tag that will be replace by the input value

8. Add the ” string to the right of the tag

9. Repeat for all strings that are relevant for input text

10. Save the change to your new dictionary

11. Right click your new dictionary and set it as your default recording dictionary

12. Restart Producer

13. Do a new recording and confirm that it adds the quotes

Once this is working, be sure to synchronise the new dictionary to Manager and have all other author set it as their default recording dictionary also.

Regards

Shane

Further to this, something has changed, and now entering & quot ; (without the spaces - separated here just to stop the editor misinterpreting it) will work. But for reasons best known to SAP, it insists on putting a space either side of the Input Text, so what you end up with is...

Enter " 1234 " in the whatever field.

Which could be confusing, and kind of ruins what you're going for. So, better (in that it correctly interprets the quotation mark) but still unusable.

Thank you! That helped.
