Add new employee vs add fixed term

Hi experts,

In my company, we usually hire contract workers through Add new employee, but I see we also have the functionality "Add new Employee for Fixed term". I wonder what is your experience with "Add new emo for fixed term", what do you see as the pro's and con's?

Wouldn't it be better to use add contingent worker for that (or do you not leverage that feature)?

The only upside you could consider this for is that you can add termination details as well (as that saves going back to the user profile to then go through the termination process), but (apart from maybe interns) it makes more sense to me to leverage contract end date in job info for that as most fixed term employees tend to get extended (and thereby don't lose access to everything if the manager has had 'other priorities' than pressing the extend button.).

We use CW for consultants not hired by the company, but we are having a lot of contract workers hired by the company as well.

Thank you for the description, I think we in most cases prolong their contracts so might be better to just use the current process.
