Absences in specified date ranges - Canvas Report

Is there a way to write a canvas report that shows absent employees within a specified date range, regardless of when their absence starts and ends?

For example, I want to know which employees are absent in the week 25/10/21 - 29/10/21 and how many days they are absent in this date range. In the case of someone who is absent for 2 weeks, from 18/10/21 - 29/10/21, I want it to show me that they were absent for 5 days in the date range specified.

Currently, the absence overview report shows me the total number of days they are absent regardless of what dates I choose, and I can only filter by start date and end date, so that anyone who is absent in-between or outside of these dates will not be included despite actually being absent for the dates I have requested.
