About using SAP Companion Guided Tours for WebGUI Screens in SAP S4

As we know, SAP S4 user interface can be experienced primarily through UI5 apps (Fiori apps), and WebGUI screens. WebGUI mimics the classic SAP GUI experience, and accessible through Web Browser.

So, while authoring SAP Companion Guided Tours for the SAP S4 application, we found two types of screens - UI5 Fiori Screens, and WebGUI screens.

We have not encountered any challenges while authoring guided tours for UI5 Fiori screens. However, when we authored guided tours for WebGUI screens in SAP S4, we found the following issues:

  1. The guided tours do not function consistently for all browsers.
  2. The positioning of bubbles and highlights changes sometimes.
  3. When a user moves from WebGUI screen to another, a bubble gets repeated.

When raised a question to SAP, I was also suggested to turn on the Scripting. For the Scripting feature, I was provided with this blog on SAP Community.

Additionally, I was recommended to ask this Question on SAP Community. Hence, I am adding it here as well. So, any help would be greatly appreciated.

My questions:

  • Anyone encountered behaviors as listed above in points # 1, 2, and 3 while authoring SAP Companion content for WebGUI screens of SAP S4 application?
  • How to turn on the Scripting? Is it done in the target SAP S4 application, or in SAP GUI at the back-end, or in SEN Workarea?

Thank you all.
