Introducing SAP Mobile Start

SAP Mobile Start is a new native mobile app to bring the Intelligent Enterprise on to your mobile devices. It provides users with an enhanced mobile access to SAP applications, web content, data, and news feeds to quickly address their daily work – anywhere and anytime.

Users can benefit from persona-tailored content, which will be easy to consume and optimized for mobile situations. SAP Mobile Start can be set up and configured to user needs by IT administrators. It allows users to stay up to date on mobile devices and act immediately on critical business situations. The app offers integration with business applications, enabling higher productivity, and is a key asset to help ensure business continuity directly from mobile devices.

Thinking about SAP Mobile Start and a seamless HXM experience: 

When we thought about providing the next generation of HXM through an intuitive mobile form factor integrated across SAP. We first asked ourselves:

Is the functionality relevant to our users? To this extent, we integrated the most widely used and requested features on SAP SuccessFactors into SAP Mobile Start.

Is the form factor reliable enough to drive technical adoption? We ensured that our deeplinks are tested across UX-Reimagined and can seamlessly be access through SAP Mobile Start.

Is the application intuitive enough to ensure a short learning curve for both managers and end users? Extensive usability testing has shown that the deeplinking is easy to navigate with minimal curation needed to index for information.

Is the mobile application delightful to use? Our adoption of new UI components developed in house will bring the next generation of UX into the app.

  Managers recruit staff, counsels, coach and train employees. Additionally, they ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment for the employees and develop personal growth opportunities for them. Managers need to have the relevant information available regardless of their location to be able to make the best decisions for the company when required. Generally, managers have to cope with a heavy workload, therefore all tools that help them to complete tasks quickly are helpful for them.

Employee

Employees perform their everyday work, attend trainings for their job and work towards achieving their year goals and plans their long-term development. Additionally, employees inform their manager about their working time, overtime and absences (vacation, sickness). The goal of employees is to focus on the daily work and to avoid spending too much time with administrative tasks like time recording. Depending on their specific role, mobile requirements might differ. However, all of them share the need for easy access to information, intuitive workflows available on mobile devices and instant notifications.

What's next?

Customers today are "mobile first" and the SAP Mobile Start project represents a commitment by SAP to our customers to bring the full suite of enterprise tools to mobile in an intuitive, seamless fashion. In time, the SAP Mobile Start project  will evolve to be dynamic and support a vast ecosystem of SAP applications for enterprises and end users alike. As with every application built by SAP, the aim is to build a "best-in-class" enterprise toolbox that is customer centric and backed by solid user research.

Integration of SAP Task Center

With Task Center integration in SAP Mobile Start the user will have access to all workflow tasks in one screen. Tasks can be processed with just one click and now the user no longer need to install numerous Inboxes from various applications. This will reduce the time spent by approvers and improve the approval time for critical items. By providing a dedicated screen to access the tasks and notifications, the user has one place to easily process all their “to-do”s.
