Introduction (Presentation can be downloaded here) :

  • When testing and validating new compensation configurations in Production (or any other environment where actual employee emails are loaded and email redirection to a generic inbox isn’t in place), we (customer team and consultant) need to make sure that no notification will ever get triggered while we are testing (launching and routing new worksheets and making edits in the executive review mainly). This applies to a new compensation template production cutover or a “duplicated” template from within the environment to prepare for a new cycle : email notifications get turned on by default when a template is duplicated.


 

  • It is even more important when customers have a Comp Admin only process (frequently the case for Bonuses or Stock/Options calculations) where compensation worksheets and screens should not be seen by any manager or employee until statements have been generated and made visible on each employee’s profile.


 

  • Unwanted notifications being sent out to end-users (managers, employees, HR) when they shouldn’t are detrimental to the image and the trust of employees in SuccessFactors hence this topic is one of the most important when working with the SuccessFactors Compensation Module.

There is no way to do this with the tools available to customers and consultants. We would need to log a ticket to engineering for this and also if we wanted to know which email notifications have already been triggered. All the best, Xavier

Is there a way to have a same logo in the Personal Compensation Statement Generation Notification mail as in the e.g. time off workflow notification?

It doesn't seem to be possible unfortunately as per this KBA I just found.

"Personal Statement Notification is not yet supported for HTML format and hence doesn't follow the HTML format."

I will add it to my own internal list of enhancements to suggest to product : add html support for this notification.

Hi Xavier,

In the 'Document Completed Notification'; you can choose the reciever per template. F.e. 'Employee', 'Manager', 'HR Rep', 'Matrix Manager',..

In case of completion of a compensation worksheet, who is considered as an employee? Would that be the compensation planner? And accordingly, is the 'Manager', the manager of the compensation planner?

Yes in Compensation workflow (and also in email notification settings) the planner is the employee, the planner's planner is the manager etc.
