During the hiring process, documents like policies or forms should be signed by onboardees. Some of these documents need to be signed to complete the hiring process. The rest can be signed later or in parallel with administrative actions in Manage Pending Hire. Before the 2H2024 release, it was not possible to split the signature steps. Introducing Primary and Secondary Tasks in the program is now possible.

SuccessFactors Onboarding: The New "Primary and Secondary New Hire Tasks" Step
The key information that you need to know:
- If a document step is added after secondary tasks, for example, in the program, please add one required custom task in the secondary tasks

- When the custom task in the secondary tasks is completed, the document step will appear under New Hire Tasks and not in data collection, and it will not prevent the hiring process. Therefore, the onboardee will be available in Manage Pending Hire.


- If you have two document steps, the first one after data collection to be completed before Manage Pending Hire, and the second one after the secondary tasks, you can assign the documents to the proper document step in the rule using the process variant step name.
