2H 2024 Updates to the Reimagined Applicant Management Tool in SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting

In 2023, we released the reimagined Applicant Management tool in SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting to enable talent acquisition teams to screen and filter applicants more efficiently. As part of the ongoing initiative to improve the hiring experience, we have delivered AI-driven enhancements to this tool to screen and hire top talent more simply and quickly. In the 2H 2024 release, the reimagined Applicant Management tool remains available on an opt-out basis in Recruiting Admin settings. If the tool is enabled, users are able to navigate between the old and redesigned pages via a specific toggle.

In the 2024 releases, there are several new enhancements that will improve how recruiters can search and view applicants:

AI-assisted applicant screening

We've enhanced the AI-assisted skills matching feature to let you view the total number of skills in an applicant's resume that match the skills specified as primary and secondary on the job description. This enhancement helps recruiters and hiring managers utilize the skills compatibility insights to make informed decisions during applicant screening and hiring.

Recruiters can use AI to help screen applicants by matching skills extracted from their resume to skills on job requisitions. This helps recruiters to easily identify the best fit talent based on their skills compatibility. By selecting an applicant’s profile, recruiters can also see matching, related, and missing skills, as well as view other skills they have that don’t match to the job.

Additional Minor 2H 2024 Enhancements

Recruiters can now access historial results including assessments and screening questions, and view the onboarding initiation status to see the approval workflow and any failure details within the onboarding portlet. Additionally, recruiters can now download and upload resumes, cover letters, and other documents in the redesigned Applicant Management tool.

Enhancements from 1H 2024:

Sorting applicants

Using the redesigned Applicant Management tool, applicants can be sorted in ascending or descending order by the different columns. For example, applicants can be sorted by applicant name, status, application date, applicant type, etc.

Applicant history comments

Recruiters can easily view comments on an applicant’s profile for previous jobs they’ve applied for.

Assessment vendor integrations

For jobs that require applicants to complete an assessment as part of the hiring process, it is now possible to display assessment requirements, status, and access their results.

Background check

Recruiters can initiate background checks on applicants with First Advantage or other third-party vendors. Once initiated, the Background Check portlet will appear on the Activity tab.

Interview results

This new portlet shows recruiters interview results from Interview Central, including overall rating, details for each skill and competency and comments from interviewers. This detailed page for each applicant also provides an easy navigation to view all Candidate Ratings to compare multiple applicants on a single page.

Hi,

As of yesterday, the new applicant workbench became an opt-in feature, but the update did not explain how to opt-in.  It is not in the upgrade center.  How do I opt-in?

Thank you,

Tracy

Hi experts,

Can you please clarify what does it mean by Admin Universal Push? 2H 2024 Release (Nov): Admin Universal Push and End of Support for the Legacy Workbench.

Is my understanding correct?

In 2H 2024 release, the redesigned applicant workbench will be enabled for all, and we cannot enable or disable this in recruiting settings. Also, we cannot toggle between legacy and redesigned applicant workbench. we will only have the redesigned applicant workbench?

Please clarify.

Thank you!

Ankita

Hello,

I see that in 1H 2025 the Legacy Workbench will be deprecated. However, I have not noticed a specific date for the ability to Print applications? This was an important feature in Legacy as there are many legal reasons as to why we need to print applications. Is there a more specific date in which that development will come through? Thats truly the biggest pain point for us and the reason not all can adapt to the new workbench.

Thank you,

Please confirm that the Legacy Applicant tool will NOT be deprecated in 1H2025 due to the new enhancements that will be released with 1H2025 and 2H2025.

Is this correct based on the information stated below?  Can we still opt-out after 1H2025 release?
