Dear SAP SuccessFactors Community,
Time has passed fast again, and here we are, at the end of the year with another release full of great new SAP Best Practices packages and enhancements.
I am happy to share that three new SAP Best Practices packages releated to SAP SuccessFactors solutions are now available:
- SAP Best Practices for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central integration with ERP HCM Payroll
- Financial Workforce Planning with SAP Analytics Cloud based on SAP SuccessFactors
- SAP Best Practices for SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding (based on Onboarding 2.0).
The
SAP Best Practices for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central integration with ERP HCM Payroll package is of special interest for ERP HCM customers who want to move to the cloud. The package supports two scenarios for ERP customers who run ERP HCM Payroll:
- Migration - introduce Employee Central as new system of records via data migration
- Replication - continue using ERP HCM Payroll integrated with Employee Central via data replication.
These scenarios can be implemented separately or together. The package utilizes SAP Cloud Platform Integration. It focuses on US-specific content and comes with standard data mappings, as well as specific data mappings via BAdIs.
The scenario of data migration from ERP HCM to Employee Central covers the migration and import of organizational and employee data, along with cost centers, from ERP HCM to Employee Central. Data replication from Employee Central to ERP HCM Payroll includes employee master data, employee cost center assignments, and organizational data, along with cost centers. For S/4 HANA Cloud customers the
Financial Workforce Planning with SAP Analytics Cloud based on SAP SuccessFactors could be of interest. Workforce Planning for SAP S/4HANA Cloud offers workforce planning and analysis in SAP Analytics Cloud based on the combination of data from Success Factors and SAP S/4HANA Cloud. The solution includes a model, stories, and a best practice integration process. The solution includes dynamic workforce planning, leveraging the latest headcount and expense assumptions. A dashboard and reports enable variance analysis, trend analysis, year-over-year reporting, and KPI analysis. For details check out this blog and the following link on SAP Best Practices Explorer:

The third new package
SAP Best Practices for SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding is available as of December 16, 2019. As part of this first version, pre-defined configuration is provided for parts of the solution scope of SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 2.0. The available pre-defined configuration allows the setup of a basic Onboarding process for new employees which is triggered in SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management and ends in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central where the hiring of the new employee is completed via Manage Pending Hires.
In the following releases it is planned to enhance the existing scope (e.g. with enabled e-signature opportunity, country specific compliance forms, etc.) and add configuration for cross-boarding and off-boarding processes. Version one is a documentation only package. With the next release in 2005, we plan to provide the pre-configuration for an automated deployment via the Upgrade Center.

With those three new packages the overall SAP Best Practices HCM portfolio looks as follows:
Major Enhancements of existing packages
Besides the three new packages, we have enhanced the existing solution scope according to new features and functions but also based on the feedback which we receive from SAP Customers, Partners and Professional Services.
Here some more highlights:
SAP Best Practices for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
- Demo Data
To provide customers with the possibility to test the applied SAP Best Practices pre-configuration, we are proud to provide sample data. When loading them into the system via SAP Upgrade Center a logic ensures sample data are loaded only for the business process configuration which has been previously deployed.
- Time Sheet Switzerland
After a major enhancement of the country version for Switzerland earlier this year, we now provide localized configuration for Time Sheet as well. By applying the country specific configuration block, you will get sample configuration for clock-time based recording for Time Sheet Switzerland. Included are recording of regular time, overtime and on-call duty. The overtime recorded flows into a time off in lieu account called “Compensation”. In addition to that, a premium is paid out for time recorded between 22:00 and 06:00.
- Time Sheet Accrual based on actual hours worked for Australia
This enhancement may be of special interest for Australian Time customers. In Australia it is a common business process to use recorded attendance time for daily time account vacation accruals. Here, for each worked day employees get accrued some time for their annual leave.
Therefore, we added sample configuration for Time Account accruals based on the employee’s recorded hours in time sheet to the scope of the country version for Australia. This configuration can be used optionally by customers who have not used Time Off/ Time Sheet for Australia before.
- EC Benefits for Japan
Available for customers in Japan is an optional scope item which brings sample configuration for EC Benefits. Provided is sample configuration for Marriage Allowance and Health Check Reimbursement.
- Service Anniversary Notifications
This optional configuration block brings in the configuration required to send out anniversary e-mails to employees when they complete their service anniversary. This configuration block can be deployed on top of EC Core configuration.
Looking at next year you can look forward to some more great enhancements.
As of 29
th of January the
SAP Best Practices for SAP SuccessFactors Compensation sample configuration will be available for an automated and fast deployment via SAP Upgrade Center.
The next big release you can look forward to will be in May 2005.
Wishing you a great Christmas Season.
Warm regards,
Julia
