How centralized services improvise the employee data import process with enhancements and extensible features?

Employee Central Imports use centralized services activated out-of-the-box. The centralized services are currently extended to work with Biographical and Email Information imports. This will be the default behavior from this release.

Note: Administrators have an option to switch back to the old behavior which will be supported only for this release. From Company System and Logo Settings -> “Enable Employee Data Import through Service Layer” will be enabled by default. It is possible to switch back to the old behavior by disabling this switch.

While configuring the business rules, you can also handle exceptional scenarios with an appropriate warning or an error message using the Raise Message action.

From next release (Q4/2019) Email and Biographical Information will unanimously have the transaction logic passing through centralized services. The behavior for all other imports will remain same.

Before: It was not possible to execute business rules while importing Biographical and Email Information of employees. Also, it was not possible to suppress identical records while importing Email Information of employees.

After: It's now possible to apply business rules to be executed while importing Biographical and Email Information of employees, provided the logged-in user has the necessary role-based permissions. It's possible to suppress identical records while importing Email Information of employees, provided the option to suppress identical records in Company System and Logo Settings is enabled.
