I thought that Q3 for recruiting was the most comprehensive for the Q3 release, but I was more than wrong. SAP needed two virtual sessions to present the Employee Central functionality for the SAP SuccessFactors implementation partner network.
Two slide decks – two sessions – 2 x 2 hours presentation then you know that SAP is serious about the Employee Central product.
Will Q4 contain more than Q3 – I do not know, but I am already looking forward to Q4, keep up the good work SAP. Kudos to the whole product team – and to the customers for suggesting new functionality
I will not present the full functionality for Q3 Employee Central – but only the areas that if most value adding for both customers and SAP SuccessFactors Implementation Partners.
Overall the Q3 major release is expected to give new functionality for the following areas:
- Position Management and Company Structure Overview
- Employee Central Localization
- Benefits
- Workflow
- Time and Attendance
- Payroll
- Employee Profile
There is currently Software vendors providing 3
rd party software for an enhanced organization view for the SAP SuccessFactors product here among NAKISA® and Ingentis®. Apparently SAP SuccessFactors has listened to the customers requiring more options for correcting the user interface Organization Managment.
It will be possible to SAP SuccessFactors administrators to more easily configure the Company Structure Definitions and the User Interface. For the administrator is means that it will be possible to see, create, change and delete definitions, examples are change color on an entity using by selection instead of hex code. And displays these fast in the user interface.

New option for the HR administrators and Managers to filter the workflows by the Meta Data Framework object types. The pre-requites is enablement of the New Home Page.
New enhancement named time collectors; basically it is a time valuation calculation result. Out from the SAP SuccessFactors customer’s requirement it can count daily, weekly, monthly; and store the result.
The time collectors will be further enhanced in future releases, for Q3 in contains the following;
- Generate errors related to the time sheet – when time collector threshold is reached
- Reporting gathering of data
Enhancement for configuration of how the displayed balances in the time off / admin workbench are calculated.
A new tile can be included in the “To Do” area, named “complete payroll tasks”. This can assist the payroll administrators for work to be completed and furthermore ensure that the payroll process is followed.
There have been “some” performance issues when loading the People Profile, therefore the load of People Profile has been optimized to prevent browser freezes. Furthermore coding for the mobile version of the People Profile has been optimized.
When printing a PDF of the People Profile, it did not represent the online version. This has been corrected so that the PDF is correctly aligned. The implemented functionality/correction was originally a customer forwarded idea to SAP.
Anders Bang Christoffersen, I did it my way. Started as soldier and later HR clerk in the Danish Army, so I know what the HR admin tasks are. From the time where payroll was handed in on a floppy disk!
Ended my education with a Master in IT, is working with SAP SuccessFactors at Zalaris HR Services. If you have questions – please reach out.
