Requirement:

All new starters to be enrolled in mandatory Global benefits of SuccessFactors like life insurance and all terminated employees to be auto unenrolled or delimited from all the enrolled benefits.

Solution:

This is possible by using simple rules through below steps and similarly for all terminations or retirements based on the events recorded in employee data.

Once this configuration is complete you could see that all the employees benefits deductions are automatically updated without any manual work.

  • As a first step, create the business rule which will trigger intelligent service center events once the employee is hired or terminated and assign the rules as post save event type to the Business configuration Job information.

  • next step is to  setup Intelligent service Center, it is like middleware which will sync the events data once we create the events. Standard events hire, rehire and termination are already created by SAP and use the same flows, for any validations or any approvals to trigger we can add rules. The below is the standard flow provided by SAP.

  • events received from employee data will be processed further by creating “Benefit Event Determination” for required events with list of legal entities.

  • create benefit life events and update life event configuration details which will create auto enrollment of benefits based on the rules defined in this configuration.

Hi Bruno,

below rule scenarios are used in configuration setup:

  • event rule on Job Information to trigger Intelligent Service center are pre-delivered business rules for the events. These rules can be imported from Admin Center -> Import and Export Data -> Import Data -> SuccessStore. For New Hire, the rule is EVENT_NEWHIRE (SAP_EVENT_NEWHIRE).
  • Benefits event Determination is " Determine Benefit Work Event"
  • Benefit Life/Workevent configuration is "Configure Benefit Enrolment Effective From Rule via Benefit Work/Life Event Configuration"

Thanks,

Manasa

Hello again,

Sorry to bother, but Im having some issues regarding automatic Enrollment (job runs with success) and under Benefits Overview it creates "Important Links" just as I've configured, but nothing about the Benefit (Insurance Type)

Hi Bruno,

This may be because of some minor issues, I can provide you with few corrections which i faced during implementation.

  • In Benefit configuration Step 5, enrollment type should be "Automatic", "Allow Automatic Updates of Enrollment" and "Enrollment Edit Allowed" as Yes.
  • effective date of benefit in configuration should be before employee hire date in employment details.
  • you can also check the trace captured in Benefits admin overview for "Benefit Events Log" for the employee.

Thanks,

Manasa
