I am happy to share my experience on Offboarding 2.0 in my First Blog for the year 2022


Successfactors has come up with MDF based Offboarding module with new features and there are still the enhancements going based on the requests from the customers.


Below is one of the requirement from my customer & this is the common scenario from most of the customers.

Okay now lets look in the requirement:

My Client has Requirement to trigger Offboarding for the candidates who is getting Terminated with Backdated due to various reasons & they need to have only few tasks to be triggered ex: Scheduling meetings & Asset listing & Tracking etc.

As part of standard Offboarding process, if the employee is getting terminated with the Back dated date, the Manager Review step & Employee Data Review will not load page & it will show as keep loading & this is expected behavior of the system as the user is already inactive in EP.

We do have the workaround for this requirement that which we proposed  customer with few changes in the Offboarding Process flow (Process Variant)

Below are the steps that you need to make the changes in the existing Configuration.

Step1: SAP_ONB2_OFB_EmployeeReviewCheck

Step2: SAP_ONB2_OFB_ManagerReviewCheck

Step3: No Document Assignment

This is Rule to check whether the Employee needs to review the Offboarding Information or not. Since it is backdated termination & Employee will be Inactive in system, we have to skip this step by changing the condition in business rule. Please find the below screenshot for reference & it is up to you to change the condition


 

Step2: SAP_ONB2_OFB_ManagerReviewCheck:

This is Rule to check whether the Manager needs to review the Offboarding Information of Employee or not. Since the Employee is terminated in backdated & Employee will be Inactive in system, hence the data page will not be loaded  & we have to skip this step by changing the condition in business rule. Please find the below screenshot for reference & it is up to you to change the condition


 

Step3: Document Assignment:

Do not have Documents Generated for these employees as they will not be able to sign them.

After all these configurations done, please terminate Employee with backdated with specified event reason which you have used in Initiate Offboarding rule. Now you can see the Tasks created for backdated Terminated employee and Tasks are assigned to Responsible people

I hope this helps to the customers who wants to implement offboarding including backdated Terminations.
