Feature Name Update in What’s New

In 2023, we've released an SuccessFactors App for Microsoft Teams to bring most of the SuccessFactors Quick Actions/Notifications into MS Teams to improve working and collaboration efficiency of employees' life (E2E Demo for major features of the app).  To help you find the right feature more efficiently in the What’s New for each release's new enhancement, we’ve changed our Feature Name from “Work Tech” to “Work Tech (Microsoft Teams Integration)". See below screenshot:

Feature Switch Available

This is a highly requested feature by many customers. We have a lot of quick actions and notifications/approvals in our Teams app. Some customers might only want to start with part of them and then gradually enable more, not all at once. Now with this enhancement, we'll add the Switches for quick actions and notification cards, to provide flexibility to control which quick actions/ which approvals to be on/off based on your own company's strategy. See more details in the What's New.

It's quite easy to do the configuration, just go to Admin Center > Work Tech Configuration > Settings > SAP SuccessFactors APP in Teams.

Note:

  • If a specific quick action is turned off, the action from the quick action list card and home tab will not be displayed, and user cannot trigger it via command in the chatbot as well.
  • If a specific notification/approval card is turned off, it will not be sent to users’ chatbot as a reminder. But the historical cards remain there.
  • We have Quick Actions/Notification cards that are reused from SuccessFactors Home Page side. For those cards, if the card is disabled in Manage Home Page, it will be displayed as switched off and cannot be turned on in Work Tech side. So in order to use the same card in Teams App, go to Manage Home Page to enable it first if the card exists in Home Page. But if it's enabled in Home Page of SuccessFactors, you can freely turn it on/off specifically in Teams side.

Long-Time Login Enhancement

Previously, users might be frequently asked to log in to their SAP SuccessFactors account when using some quick actions or accessing the Home tab (almost every 30 minutes based on SuccessFactors side session). We fully understand the concern and worked with our authentication team together to get it resolved finally.  With this enhancement, users can keep logged in for up to 3 months without needing to re-authenticate. And this is supported in both the desktop and mobile clients of Microsoft Teams. See more details in the What's New.
The only pre-condition is - The Identity and Access Management solution is enabled in your company.

Note:

  • The refresh token expiration time (3 months) cannot be set in the sub-application in IAS due to IAS current capability. It is entirely controlled by the parent. So after 3 months, user need to re-login again, then it will keep another 3 months again without login.
  • We'll start the enablement of this enhancement from mid Oct, not based on the code release cycle as it's controlled by a feature toggle so we'll enable as early as possible to improve your users' experience.
