SuccessFactors AI - AI-Assisted Successor Insights (Set up and hints)

Leveraging generative AI capabilities, succession planners can now gain insights into the successors that are nominated for a position or an incumbent.

In the Succession Org Chart or the Position Tile view, users can access the feature by selecting the Generate Insights button in the header of a position card. Note that this button is available only when the position or person has at least 1 but no more than 10 successors.

HINT: Before you start the activation, please check what license type you have. If you have the newest AI License Model (where you pay per user and month), please follow the next steps ONLY if you have activated the Joule Premium AI Package for HCM in SAP4ME and after the assignment of users in the relevant IAS Group) - SAP Video - Activating and Assigning SAP Business AI Feature Packages.

To get the AI-Assisted Successor Insights tool activated some small steps are needed.

1. Fullfill the pre-requisites: you have to have licenses for AI Units

2. Activate the function

With the AI Units you will find a new admin page in SuccessFactors where you can activate AI Scenarios (AI Service Administration). Grant the permissions to this page to your user to manage the AI Scenarios.

In this application (AI Service Administration) you have to activate Assisted Successor Insights. With this setting you have activated the function in overall.

3. Assign permissions to your users

To make sure users can use the function add the scenarios to the relevant permission roles.

With activation of AI functions we have a new RBP category available under user permissions -> AI Access

Select the "Assisted Successor Insights" permissions.

You can find the insights by navigation to your succession org chart and by selecting a position with successors.
